Major League Baseball 2K8 is a baseball game that continues the series' tradition of roster updates and new features. The game introduces the Swing Stick 2.0, which allows for various hit types and the Total Pitch Control, utilizing the analog sticks on the PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360. On the PSP, the same features are present but use the D-Pad.
The game boasts all MLB teams and most major players, along with 90 minor league teams, including 18 authentic stadiums for exhibition play and a franchise mode. The game also features signature animations from top players and commentator talents from Jon Miller and Joe Morgan.
Aside from the Wii, which uses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, each platform offers multi-player capabilities through its respective online service. Players can collect and trade 2K cards among others, adding an extra layer of interaction to the game.
