The Getaway Black Monday follows the story of Trevor Phillips, a former getaway driver who is released from prison after serving a 10-year sentence. With his brother, Alex, he sets out to pull off one final heist before Trevor is caught again by the police and sent back to prison. The game's narrative explores themes of loyalty, family, and redemption as Trevor navigates the complex web of his own past.

Gameplay revolves around driving and combat sequences, with players controlling Trevor as he attempts to carry out the heist without getting caught. The game features a variety of vehicles, including cars and motorcycles, which can be used to traverse the city and evade the police.
