The game's design allows for multiple paths through the game, with different levels unlocked depending on which ones are completed first. Players must collect various items, such as cakes, cherries, coins, and special items like clocks and musical horns, before reaching each level exit. Enemies, including pirates, ghosts, dragons, and more, will try to stop Peter from achieving his goal.

Peter can defend himself using a sword, which he can upgrade with thimbles, allowing him to summon Tinker Bell for assistance. Collecting marbles is also crucial, as they enable Peter to float along pixie dust, granting access to previously out-of-reach areas. Health replenishes by eating food, but losing it requires navigating underwater areas without Tinker Bell's aid.
