Cannon Spike is a shooter game that was originally released in arcade form. It has been ported to the Sega Dreamcast, where you can play through ten levels, each containing two to four areas. The gameplay is somewhat similar to Smash T.V., with battles taking place in a variety of environments.
As you progress through the game, you can choose from a range of characters, including Rockman (Mega Man) from the Mega Man series , Knight Arthur from the Ghost 'N Goblins series , Charlie and Cammy from the Street Fighter series , B. B. Hood from the Darkstalkers series , as well as two original characters: Shiba and Simone.
Each character has their own unique attacks, but they all share a common setup of one regular ranged attack, one powerful ditto attack, and one regular melee attack. The different attacks allow for varying strategies in each battle.
