Championship Pool is a pool game where players can participate in 8-ball or 9-ball tournaments that start off with the BCA Regional Championship. The player must defeat 32 opponents in a first-to-four-games match. If the player loses against any of the 32 opponents, they are then eliminated from the tournament. The winner of that then goes onto the World Championship.
The gameplay is done from a top-down view of the table. The player moves an icon to indicate location they want to hit the ball to. To aid in the aiming, a ghost of the cue ball and the first ball that is hit are repetitively played out to show the path of the hit ball. With the all the shots there is a very small margin of error, but this is only notable when a long shot is played or a shot from a sharp angle.
There are 4 different game modes that can be chosen, each with a different set of pool games. The different game modes and their games are:
1. Tournament: A standard tournament where the player competes against multiple opponents.
A variety of games including Eight Ball, Nine Ball, 14.1 Continuous, Ten Ball, Rotation, Straight Pool, Equal Offence, Fifteen Ball, One Pocket, Three Ball, and Speed Ball can be played with up to 8 players.
3. Party: A multiplayer game where players compete against each other in various pool games.
A variety of games including Eight Ball (2 Players), Nine Ball (2-8 Players), 14.1 Continuous (2 Players), Ten Ball (2-8 Players), Rotation (2-8 Players), Straight Pool (2 Players), Equal Offence (2-8 Players), Fifteen Ball (2-8 Players), One Pocket (2 Players), Three Ball (2-8 Players), and Speed Ball (2-8 Players) can be played with 2 to 8 players.
4. Freestyle: A practice mode where the player can practice with no opponent, move any ball to the desired location, and place potted balls back on the table.
