The main objective of Side Pocket is to sink balls in each level and reach predetermined scores to progress. However, be aware that you'll have only a limited number of lives, and any mistakes can be fatal. After completing each stage (and some luck), a bonus stage will appear, along with the chance to earn extra balls. You'll need a good target in the parquet block!

There are several versions of Side Pocket , each with its own unique features:

The original Arcade version is a pool game where you compete against the timer, trying to get all balls into pockets and earn points.

The NES release introduces modes for 2 players, including two variants: 2P Pocket Game (the traditional mode) and 2P 9-Ball Game. The game also features training mode and single-player Pocket game.

On the Game Boy version, you can play with 1 or 2 players in two game modes: 9-ball and Pocket. Pocket mode is similar to the NES version.

The Genesis and SNES versions feature improved graphics and sound, with a reworked Pocket game mode that includes more stages and trick shot layouts. You'll also travel to different cities in the U.S.A. and claim championship there. New modes include Trick game and Jukebox.

The Game Gear version is similar to the Genesis version but toned down.

Side Pocket for Wonder Swan features one and two-player play on a single device, with a single-player mode where you choose an avatar from a menu and beat the remaining opponents. The player and CPU take turns hitting the ball.
