Two Player Linking Instructions

You need one Game Boy Advance System, one CARTOON NETWORK SPEEDWAY game, and one Game Link Cable per player.
•
Turn off both systems and insert the game cartridge into each.
•
Connect the Game Link Cable to the External Extension Connector (EXT) port of each system.
•
Turn on both systems; the Main menu will appear.
•
In Two Player Mode, only the "master unit" (connected to the purple end of the cable) can make menu selections.
Track Features
Each of the twelve tracks is themed after a specific Cartoon Network show, including Big City, Playground, Bravo Burbs, and others. In Quick Race and Challenge modes, only Big City, Playground, and Bravo Burbs are available initially. Championship mode offers four tracks initially, with the remaining eight to be unlocked. All tracks share common features that affect gameplay:
•
Zippers: Running over trails of arrows provides a massive speed burst lasting 5 seconds.
•
Jumps: Strips with arrows at take-off points allow for auto-launching. You can control left/right movement mid-air to position landings.
•
Slippery Surfaces: Ice, oil, puddles, manure, and mud cause your kart to swing left and right. Tap brakes for two seconds to regain control, or risk spinning out to a dead stop.
•
Rough Surfaces: Mud, grass, snow, sand, and stone slow your cart down. These are often found in shortcuts and secret areas.
•
Drop-offs: Falling off the edge causes your character to disappear with a smoke puff and reappear in the center of the track after a delay.
•
Objects: Various obstacles are placed on tracks; hitting them costs time and speed.
•
Shortcuts: Many tracks feature hidden shortcuts to reach the finish line faster.
Sidekicks
Each character has a unique sidekick that provides an advantage in close races. Crash through the sidekick icon on any course to pick one up. In two-player modes, only one sidekick exists, so try to deny it to your opponent.
•
Activation: Stars revolve around the vehicle for 15 seconds upon pick-up.
•
Bonuses: Sidekicks provide speed increase, invulnerability, and double Star Ratings awards.
•
Extension: Collecting a star power-up while active extends the sidekick duration by an additional 10 seconds.
•
Respawn: After use, the icon reappears at a new location on the course.
