Game no Tetsujin: The Shanghai is a collection of three puzzle games that make use of mahjong tiles. In the first game, Shanghai , the player must match tiles stacked in various grid patterns. To do this, tiles can only be removed if they are fully visible and either the left or right edge is fully free. The second game, Rong Rong (also known as Shisen-Sho), requires the player to match tiles in a similar way, but with an additional twist. Tiles can only be removed if the matching pair can be connected by a line with no more than two bends, without passing through any other tile.
The third game, Shi-Kin-Joh (also known as Forbidden City), is a block-pushing game that challenges the player to navigate a maze of oversized mahjong tiles. By pushing two matching tiles together, the player can clear them from the board.
The games can be played individually or in story mode, where the player must complete specific puzzles to progress. There's also a Tetsujin mode, where puzzles are randomly selected and must be cleared in order.
Game no Tetsujin: The Shanghai was released on the Super Famicom console on October 13th, 1995. It combines action and adventure elements to create a unique puzzle-solving experience.
