The gameplay involves commanding an army and performing various actions such as sending troops, fortifying your position, and allying with other rulers. You have time limits for strategic operations during which you must defeat the enemy. The game features animé-style graphics and a different interface compared to the original SNES version, with an added storyline in the Genesis version.
