How to Play
Getting Started
Turn OFF the power switch on your Nintendo Game Boy® Advance. Never insert or remove a Game Pak when the power is on.
Insert the Franklin Game Pak into the slot on the Game Boy Advance. To lock the Game Pak in place, press firmly.
Turn the POWER switch ON and the Game Boy Advance Screen will appear followed by license screens and then the Language Selection Screen. If you don't see them, begin again at step 1.
Select your language and press the A Button to get to the Main Title Screen.
Press any key to enter the Main Menu.
Game Menu
In the Main Menu press the A Button “GAME SELECT” to enter the game menu where you can move the cursor with the Control Pad. Press the A Button to start the selected game or the B Button to return to the main menu.
By default the game is set to difficulty level EASY.
If you wish to have your progress saved for later, you need to create a new profile at your choice of difficulty. The three games with the image of a lock are bonus games. To unlock a bonus game you must complete all the previous games with success.
When you win a game you will see a little blue arrow pointing to the next game. Franklin will move along with these arrows and when all games are completed he'll return to his house.
During any game you can press START to pause the game. Press the A Button to CONTINUE or make a different selection with the Control Pad if you wish to RESTART or QUIT the game.
Profiles
Press Control Pad Right and then the A Button to select a “NEW PROFILE”. Then use the Control Pad to move the pointer up or down and press the A Button to select the slot you are pointing at. If the slot is already taken you must confirm to overwrite the old profile.
When you have selected a slot you need to select the level of difficulty (EASY/HARD) and press the A Button to go to the ENTER YOUR NAME screen. Move the cursor to the letter you want to type and press the A Button.
Press the B Button to delete a letter. Press START to save your new profile or press SELECT to cancel.
To load a profile select “LOAD PROFILE” in the Main Menu and press the A Button. Then select the profile with the Control Pad and press the A Button to load it.
Franklin in the Garden
Help Franklin water the plants and grow vegetables for dinner. Make sure they don't shrivel. Use the Control Pad to move Franklin left and right.
Move Franklin to the watering can and press the A Button to fill the can. Move him to each plant and press the A Button to water the plant. If you leave a plant without water it will shrivel, but if you water all the plants and they bear vegetables, you win the game.
The Bike Race
Help Franklin race Bear to the finish line but avoid the obstacles. Steer the bike with the Control Pad and press the A Button to go faster and pick up water bottles. Water bottles give you energy to go even faster.
Diving for Stars
Help Franklin to collect stars in the water. Move Franklin with the Control Pad to collect as many stars as possible before the time runs out and avoid the fish. They will only slow you down. If you collect enough stars you will win the game.
Mom's Homemade Cookies
Make cookies with Mom. Add ingredients according to Mom's instructions. Move the cursor with the Control Pad and press the A Button to select an ingredient and then move on to the next ingredient you want. Make sure to add them in the same order as instructed by Mom.
Franklin's Memory Game
Match the pairs to reveal the image behind the squares. Move the cursor with the Control Pad and press the A Button to flip the selected square. If you manage to find two that match they are removed.
Remove all squares to reveal the scene behind the square, but hurry before the time runs out.
Paint with Franklin
This is a locked bonus game. To unlock it you must complete all previous games. First, you must pick a picture to paint. Use the L and R Buttons to switch pictures and press the A Button to start.
Move the cursor with the Control Pad first to the palette at the bottom and then press the A Button to pick a color. Then move to the area of the picture where you want to paint and press the A Button to paint. Pressing the B Button will clear the picture.
Franklin Plays Football
