The Moon Mine game follows the story of the U.S.S. Recovery's captain as they embark on a mission to retrieve stolen treasures from Earth. The evil Zygonaut has hidden these treasures in a mine shaft on the moon, and it's up to the captain to capture them. As the player descends into the mine, they'll encounter ten different creatures that must be destroyed with their four lasers.
The gameplay involves using the four lasers to destroy the creatures that are moving towards the player's guns. The farther away the shot is, the more points will be earned. However, firing the lasers too much can cause them to overheat, requiring water to cool down and replenish when necessary. Water pools occasionally appear on the screen, and a crew member must be sent out to retrieve it. Treasure, including silver, jade, and amethyst, can also be collected by shooting at it.
