Valis II takes place in a post-war scenario where peace has been restored after Yuko's victory over Rogles. However, a new threat emerges in the form of Glames from the Dark World, who possesses a powerful sword and seeks to conquer both Earth and Vecanti. A young girl named Cham escapes from Glames' clutches and begs Yuko for help in stopping him.
Playing as Yuko, Cham, or princess Valna, players will navigate through side-scrolling levels filled with enemies and obstacles. Each character has unique abilities, such as Yuko's swordsmanship, Cham's whip-fighting skills, and Valna's magical powers. As players progress, they can equip new weapons and magic spells to aid them in their quest.
