ExerBeat is a rhythm-based fitness game where the player mirrors the moves of in-game instructors. There are 155 exercises covering eight categories: Aerobics, Hip Hop, Latin Dance, Boxercising, Karate, Yoga/Pilates, and Stretching.
The gameplay involves reproducing workout moves represented by arrows on screen, with accuracy rated as OK, Close, or Miss. Rhythm Points are awarded for the first successful move, and results screens list points, longest combo, success rate, ranking, and potential medals.
Players can create their own workout programs based on goals, trouble areas, and time limits.
The game features an "Around The World" mode where workouts translate to miles, allowing the player's Mii to travel. Mini-games like Swimming, Dance Fever, Pizza Toss, Wall Smasher, and Pirate Attack are also included.
Two players can exercise together using one or two Wii Remotes, while some exercises support additional accessories like a Wii Balance Board or a Wii Remote Plus/Wi MotionPlus for specific games.
