Grand Slam Tennis is a tennis game that features venues from all four Grand Slam tournaments; the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon and the US Open. It includes 14 of the top players at the time of release (e.g. Federer, Nadal and the Williams sisters) and 9 retired tennis legends (e.g. Sampras, McEnroe, Navratilova). The game is played with the Wii Remote and Nunchuck and also has full support for Wii MotionPlus where the timing of the swings is measured. Despite the cartoonish character models it aims to be a tennis simulation game with a learning curve, especially when played with the Wii MotionPlus.
The gameplay revolves around singles and doubles matches against AI opponents or online players in ranked or unranked mode. The player can customize their own character and choose from various venues and game settings for each match. The game modes include career mode, where the player attempts to win the Grand Slam, party mode with mini-games, play now for quick matches, and online mode with leaderboards.
