The 2010 edition of WWE Smackdown vs. Raw brings some changes to the table while keeping the core elements of its predecessor alive. Players are still in control of one of the available wrestlers, competing in career matches or quick single bouts against human or computer-controlled opponents. A custom character can be created using the Create-A-Superstar tool, which now includes 3D apparel and decorations.
Gameplay has been modified with more grapple moves and a new training mode for beginners. The two-button system used previously has been replaced by timing-based reversals, where players must press the correct button when the icon appears. In the Wii version, online sharing of wrestlers, shows, and moves is available, although it's worth noting that this feature isn't present in other versions.
