The story of Great Escape is set during the second World War, where you play as an American fighter pilot who is captured by the Germans. Your character is a computer-generated version of Steve McQueen, as are all the other actors for their characters. The game is based on the film of the same name, which was also inspired by true events.
Gameplay in Great Escape involves sneaking around the prison camp, interacting with other prisoners to gather items that will aid your escape. As you progress through the game, the physics are similar to those in Conflict: Desert Storm. However, as you attempt to break free, the gameplay shifts to intense combat and an iconic motorbike chase.
