The fifth edition of the World Fighting Tournament has sent out 17 invitations to the world's top fighters, including returning stars and newcomers like Eileen, who wields monkey kung fu, and El Blaze, a lucha libre wrestler. However, participants are unaware that their opponent is being watched by J6, an organization that funded the tournament and created a new Dural fighting program inspired by Vanessa, whose data was captured after she escaped from captivity.
Virtua Fighter 5 builds upon the classic one-on-one arena fighting gameplay with some notable changes. The ranking system has been revamped, throw speeds have been slowed, and an all-new offensive move allows fighters to sidestep attacks and execute more strategic strikes. A new clash system enables players to cancel out attacks with throws, adding a layer of strategy to the game. Additionally, character customization has become even deeper, giving players more options to tailor their fighters to their preferred playstyle.
