HEALTH, DAMAGE & CREDITS
In the single player game, you have one life. One life is equivalent to 100 Health points. As you take damage, your health points decrease. Once your health reaches zero, you are destroyed and the game is over. Of course, you can collect pick ups which restore health and increase your resistance to damage, so don't despair. Your health is restored to maximum at each new level, too. Still, keeping your hide in one piece won't be easy.
Your armor is shown by the blue meter at the top left of the screen. Collect armor pick ups to increase your resistance to damage.
In a cooperative game, passwords are not used. Instead, both players start with a limited number of credits. Additional credits are awarded to each player when completing a level. If one player loses all their credits while playing, it's still possible for the other player to complete the level (gaining the extra credit for both players to continue).
DOORS AND SWITCHES
Throughout the game, you will find areas that call for some action to access. To activate a switch, walk over it. You will need to shoot some doors to open them. You may even need to destroy an enemy to make an area accessible. PASSWORDS
There are five basic game areas, each with three levels. At the end of each level, you will get a Level and an Inventory password, allowing you to "save" your progress. It's a good idea to write down these passwords in the Notes section of this booklet. This is the only time passwords are given, so make sure to stay alive long enough to earn them. The inventory password recovers items such as armor, health, weapons, etc. The level password gives you access to the next level.
•
Inventory passwords are not required to continue your game.

You can enter a level with just your level password, in which case you will start the level with only default weapons.

SPECIAL BONUSES
There are two very rare special bonuses to collect in the game. They are well hidden, but worth the hunt. Once collected, they remain in effect.
•
Magic Turok Satchel: This allows you to carry twice the ammunition.
•
Cool Supply: Gives 20% more ammunition for each weapon the player currently has.
WEAPONS
Players begin with default weapons, and must collect better ones as they progress. Weapons generally have a basic version and a more deadly upgrade. In addition, ammo must be collected for most weapons. Once a weapon runs out of ammo, it can't be used until ammo is replenished. You can carry several weapons at once.
To select a weapon, press the L Button to cycle down or the R Button to cycle up. Press SELECT to swap between the different versions of the same weapon.
•
Single Pistol: This basic pistol is your default distance weapon. It has unlimited ammo.
•
Space Eagle: Upgraded pistol does additional damage. •
Sub-machine Gun: Automatic fire makes your lighter enemies most uncomfortable.
•
3-Way Gun: This gun is similar to the Uzi but rounds go in three directions.
