Ballistic is a puzzle game where you need to place 3 patterned Ballistic balls next to each other to clear them. It is similar to Puyo Puyo in this way.
The player is placed in the center of the screen, shooting the balls outward. In Panic! mode, a constant stream of balls appears and you must destroy similar balls to keep the string short and prevent it from reaching the middle of the screen. In Checkmate mode, a limited number of Ballistic balls are given to you, which you must use to destroy all the balls on the screen.
To succeed in Checkmate mode, strategy is key since the amount of balls destroyed must be maximized. The game also features a versus mode where you can challenge another player. When one player succeeds, additional Ballistic balls appear on the other player's screen, which they then must clear.
Ballistic was released for the GameBoy Color in November 1999.
