Based on the game Catwoman , the story follows Catwoman as she is hired by Talia to steal a crystal skull. However, Catwoman has other plans and decides to keep it for herself, unaware that Ra's al Ghul intends to use it to destroy Gotham. The player must guide Catwoman through nine levels, fighting off henchmen and navigating challenging terrain.
The gameplay in Catwoman features a variety of moves that allow players to control Catwoman as she navigates through the levels. These include attacking with her claws, jumping off walls, flipping, grabbing ledges, and swinging with her whip, similar to Bionic Commando. Additionally, players can choose to use stealth, allowing Catwoman to disappear into the background of a level and sneak along silently.
