The game addresses some of the issues present in its predecessor, including the revamped job system, which now consists of retro-style mini-games reminiscent of NES games. Expect more over-the-top violence, thrilling wrestling moves, and devastating finishers known as "Death Blows." Additionally, Darkside Mode returns with a twist: it operates like an in-game slot machine, granting Travis special powers for brief periods.

The game's world is familiar, with Travis' motel room serving as his home base. However, new distractions have been added to keep him on his toes, including a TV, closet, and wrestling magazines. Shinobu, a fan favorite, has also joined the roster of playable characters.
