Everybody thought that after the Tetris masters who crash-landed into the Puyo Puyo universe left, they would never see the Puyo Puyo characters again. But try telling that to a certain girl named Marle, who for some reason has mixed together the Puyo Puyo and Tetris universes, causing the Tetris masters to once again crash-land into the Puyoverse. But why? And who knows what the consequences may be? There's only one way to find out...
Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 , the direct sequel to Puyo Puyo Tetris , pits 28 characters against each other in the hopes of unraveling this mixed-up universe of Puyo Puyo and Tetris and bringing things back to normal. As always, the object of the game is to score the longest chain possible and drown opponents in a sea of Nuisance Puyo and/or extra blocks. The rules change each time, but a new wrinkle has been added to the five modes from the last game in the form of the Skill Battle. In Skill Battle, players control a team of 3 characters, each with a special skill that uses MP when used.
In typical Puyo Puyo fashion, up to four players can compete in a battle mode for Puyo and/or Tetris supremacy. But there are plenty of game play options for a single player to enjoy, too.
