The Black Evil has taken over Amazing Island , and it's up to you to bring order back to the island. The Maboo Tribe needs your help to outcast the evil that's taken control, and you must create your own creature to do so. By entering your creature into competitions against the Black Evil, you'll unlock new features to improve its speed, strength, and appearance.
The gameplay is all about active gamepad skills, mostly pressing a button as fast as possible with minor variations. However, success depends on your monster's statistics, such as speed, strength, or flying ability. You can enhance these statistics by buying items at shops.
You can play single and multiplayer battles on the GameCube, or upload your creatures to the Game Boy Advance to challenge friends and unlock new items and features for your creations.
