Arkanoid , released in 1986, is an arcade game where you control a spaceship called Vaus that moves left and right across the bottom of the screen. The goal is to catch and redirect an energy bolt at the top of the screen by hitting bricks with it.
The ship's journey is blocked by a mysterious wall, requiring you to destroy the bricks in order to progress to safety. Along the way, you can collect power-ups that give your Vaus spaceship new abilities, such as lasers and a catching device. These upgrades allow you to shoot out blocks more efficiently and change the direction of the energy bolt when it hits a brick.
