You're in charge of protecting your precious carrot patch from a mischievous gopher , who's determined to tunnel his way into your garden and make off with all your carrots. The goal is simple: fill in the gopher's tunnels before he breaks through to the surface and makes off with one of your carrots.
The gameplay itself is fast-paced and challenging, as you need to move quickly around the screen to keep up with the gopher's tunneling pace. If you fail to fill in a tunnel quickly enough, the gopher will emerge victorious and grab one of your carrots. But don't worry – you'll also have the chance to earn some bonuses by catching the occasional seed dropped by a flying duck.
Gopher was released for the Atari 2600 in 1982, offering several difficulty levels to suit different players' skills. With its simple yet addictive gameplay and charming (if slightly mischievous) protagonist, Gopher remains a beloved classic among retro gamers.
