Power Pro-kun Pocket , a 1999 Game Boy Color release from Diamond Head and Konami, is an arcade Baseball simulator with a darker tone. It's based on Jikkyou Pawafuru Puroyakyū 5 but features its own unique storyline.
The game's main feature is its "Success" story scenario, "Extreme High School Edition". The player takes on the role of a student who transfers to a school and must build a Baseball team. To succeed, the protagonist needs to manage his routine, train with new teammates, and even date one of several love interests. However, failing to keep the protagonist healthy or losing matches will result in a game over, erasing the player's save file.
Once the Success mode is cleared, players can create a custom team using their chosen character for Exhibition mode. Matches between two people who own the game and are connected via link cable are also supported.
A compilation remake of Power Pro-kun Pocket and its sequel was released for the Game Boy Advance in 2004.
