The evil Emperor threatens the kingdom of Blobolonia, prompting an alien blob to crash land on Earth in search of assistance. A young boy is found by the extraterrestrial visitor, leading to a quest to save Blobolonia from the Emperor's rule.
A Boy and his Blob brings back memories of David Crane's classic Nintendo game. As the nameless protagonist, you control an alien blob that can change shape into various objects when fed different flavored jellybeans. The transformations often play on words or have similar sounds to actual objects. Using these tools, your goal is to navigate through levels and reach the exit door at the end of each stage.
Hidden treasure chests are scattered throughout each level, containing three in total. Finding all three unlocks a bonus level called Challenge Level. These more difficult stages focus on specific skills or jellybean flavors, offering additional rewards such as exclusive concept art, videos, and new game modes once completed.
