is an action adventure game that recreates the Shikoku Pilgrimage, a historic journey taken by Japanese Buddhist pilgrims. The game's story revolves around the journey of an older pilgrim who can no longer physically complete the pilgrimage. To simulate this experience, the game comes with a special pedometer and walking pad controller.
Gameplay in Ohenro-San involves visiting 23 out of 88 temples on Shikoku Island and performing various rituals associated with the pilgrimage. These include washing hands and offering prayers. The game's design allows players to experience the spiritual aspect of the journey, while also providing a sense of accomplishment as they complete each ritual.
