The Star Fox Assault game takes place in the Lylat System, where the mysterious disaster that ended the war has been at peace for several years. However, Andrew Oikonny, who was kicked out of Star Wolf, has taken over Andross's army and strange insect-like creatures called Aparoids have started to appear, destroying and assimilating objects.
The gameplay is a mix of space and air combat, similar to the original Star Fox games. Players also get to fight on foot, using various weapons and the Landmaster tank. The game features a 10-mission campaign as well as a multiplayer mode with a variety of options.
Star Fox Assault was released for the Gamecube console in 2005 and builds upon the spirit of the classic space and air combat games in the series. With its combination of action-packed gameplay and varied multiplayer modes, Star Fox Assault is sure to delight fans of the franchise.
