Once again, the world of Jipang is threatened by the evil forces of demonic powers. In Tengai Makyō Zero , a side-story to the first three Tengai Makyō games for PC Engine CD, an ancient land heavily influenced by medieval Japan faces destruction at the hands of godly and demonic rulers.
The story follows two brothers as their lives take a dark turn. The younger brother is chosen to be the ruler of the Dragon Country, while his elder sibling is consumed by the demon Ninigi. This possession sets off a chain reaction of events that could lead to the downfall of Jipang.
Tengai Makyō Zero brings back memories of traditional RPG gameplay with turn-based combat viewed from an over-the-shoulder perspective. Players control Higan, a young boy chosen by a mysterious Ancient Flame to save Jipang from destruction. Along the way, Higan can attack physically, cast magic spells, and utilize unique abilities specific to each character.
