Sorcerer is an arcade action game set in ancient times when wizards and sorcerers held power. The evil wizards aim to conquer the earth by sending waves of creatures to stop the good sorcerers. Your objective is to destroy these creatures. At the start, you'll find a flying platform that needs to be jumped onto to fly anywhere on the screen. Next, you'll face each screen's worth of dangerous enemies, using an energy charge to attack them. After defeating all the creatures on a screen, treasure remains behind, offering bonus points and allowing you to progress. You may also encounter deadly lightning bolts from clouds that must be avoided.

The gameplay revolves around navigating through levels filled with increasing difficulty as time goes on. The faster you survive, the quicker the enemies become. The game features two levels of difficulty and a practice mode for players who want extra practice before taking on the main challenge.
