LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars is set during the events of the 2008 CGI-animated TV series, with the handheld editions mirroring their home console counterparts in gameplay while maintaining family-friendly content. The games feature 13 levels based on the first and second seasons of the show, comprising platform puzzle-solving and mission-based objectives such as defeating enemy droids and other familiar foes.
The game's controls offer a variety of movements, including wall-climbing with lightsabers, tracing shapes, and using the Jedi Force jump to reach new heights. In Story mode, characters like Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka Tano are playable, while additional characters can be unlocked for access to hidden minikit pieces and Red Bricks in Free Play mode.
Free Play mode offers separate playthroughs of each level's three acts, as well as the opportunity to unlock several minigames, including Snowball Fight and Droid Volleyball. These minigames require a Red Brick to be unlocked, adding an extra layer of challenge and fun to the gameplay experience.
LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars was released on March 27, 2011 for the Nintendo 3DS console.
