Players take control of Batman and Robin as they team up with characters from the DC Universe to stop the alliance between The Joker and Lex Luthor in LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes . The storyline is similar to its home console counterparts, with a focus on saving Gotham City.
Gameplay involves collecting studs, defeating enemies, and interacting with objects in an open-world environment. Players can collect Minikit pieces to unlock new characters, Red Bricks to unlock abilities, and Sound Bites for mini-vocal dialogue from certain characters. The game also features Free Play mode, where players can choose their character and abilities.
The Nintendo 3DS handheld console is used to select characters, choose abilities, and switch between playable characters at any time. Progress made in previous levels is saved and can be accessed at any time from the Load Game screen.
