NBA Jam 2000 is a basketball game with the official NBA license. Besides updated teams and graphics, the main addition to its predecessor is the new action-oriented Jam mode . It makes away with all the rules and has two-on-two matches. After three strikes in a row, the ball is set on fire and can be used to perform special moves.
The simulation mode is mostly the same as before and allows players to play a whole season (optionally with basic management options which concentrate on trading athletes), a custom season, play-offs, shoot-out or exhibition matches. Other options are a basic editor to create a new athlete and training. During the matches, players directly control the athletes.
NBA Jam 2000 was released on October 31, 1999 for the Nintendo 64 console. The game is part of the basketball genre.
