Top Gear Rally 2 is a rally racing game that offers a vastly different style of gameplay from its predecessor. The new option to join a rally racing team provides an added layer of strategy, as money raised through victories and top places in championship cups can be used to improve your car or repair damaged parts.
Top Gear Rally 2 also introduces sponsorship deals and bigger team call-ups, allowing you to drive more powerful rally cars and compete for big money. As you progress through the game, these opportunities become more available, giving you a chance to upgrade your vehicle and gain an edge over your opponents.
The gameplay itself is focused on completing stages as quickly as possible, with the player who clocks the best time earning points and advancing to the next stage. There are also arcade-style rally modes available, where you can compete against up to four other cars in a head-to-head race.
