LEGO The Hobbit lets you play as Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf The Grey, Thorin Oakenshield, and many other characters in an adventure based on the first two films of 'The Hobbit' film trilogy. The story follows their journey through Middle Earth as they try to reclaim the Lonely Mountain from the dragon Smaug.
The game is played similarly across different consoles, but the Nintendo 3DS version uses its Touch Screen to swap characters and access special moves. On the upper screen, most of the action takes place, with character swaps happening on the Touch Screen. The Touch Screen also shows a party menu in Free Play mode.
Gameplay controls include using the Circle Pad to control your character, L to switch between them, X and Y buttons for different types of attacks, R for unique super moves, B to dash, and A to interact with objects.
In LEGO The Hobbit , collecting studs is essential as they can be used to buy characters, hints, extra content, and other items. Gold Bricks are also found throughout levels, adding to your game's score, while Red Bricks unlock special features in the Pause Menu.
LEGO The Hobbit was released on 11 April 2014 for the Nintendo 3DS console.
