LEGO The Hobbit is an action-adventure game that follows Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf The Grey, Thorin Oakenshield, and many other characters on an epic adventure inspired by the first two films of Peter Jackson's 'The Hobbit' trilogy. Based on J.R.R. Tolkien's books, the game takes players through a series of challenges and obstacles as they journey to reclaim Erebor.

The Nintendo 3DS version offers a unique gameplay experience, with characters viewed from an upper perspective instead of the third-person view found in other console versions. The Touch Screen is used to swap between characters, access super moves, and manage parties. Most action takes place on the upper screen, while character movements and interactions are controlled using the Circle Pad.

Gameplay involves exploring levels, switching between characters, and collecting studs to unlock new abilities and characters. Players can also collect Gold Bricks to increase their game percentage and Red Bricks to access exclusive content in the Pause Menu.
