Shantae, the spirited half-genie heroine, finds herself at a crossroads after losing her powers in the previous installment. Now, she must navigate her new role as Scuttle Town's guardian human and face off against her arch-nemesis Risky Boots once again.
The game takes place on a vast, interconnected map reminiscent of Metroidvania-style gameplay. Without her genie powers, Shantae relies on her wit and cunning to overcome challenges. Fortunately, she can still utilize her hair as a whip and wield an assortment of pirate tools and weapons, including a pistol, scimitar, and cannon. The Nintendo 3DS version boasts stereoscopic 3D graphics, while the Wii U version showcases stunning HD visuals.
As Shantae teams up with Risky Boots to take down the Tinkerbats and resurrect their old mentor, the Pirate Master, she must employ her wits and reflexes to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies. With pirate boots and a trusty hat that allows for gliding, Shantae is more agile than ever.
