Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego

Carmen Sandiego is a master thief who leads the criminal organization V.I.L.E. This organization specializes in stealing the world's treasures without a trace. Alarmed by this, the A.C.M.E. Detective Agency makes it their personal mission to foil Carmen Sandiego's plans.

The player takes on the role of an A.C.M.E. detective tasked with tracking down V.I.L.E.'s thief. The game tests the player's knowledge about geography and general knowledge about different countries, as they fly from location to location to find clues. With a limited selection of flights available in each country, the player must search the area, interview witnesses, and gather enough information to figure out where the thief has headed next.

The game requires the player to match personal characteristics to dossiers on Carmen's gang to identify the thief. Once a suspect is found, the player must obtain a warrant to arrest them. As progress is made in arresting VILE members, more members are revealed, eventually leading to Carmen Sandiego herself.
