Grudge Warriors is set in the future, where gang warfare has escalated to using advanced armored vehicles. A mysterious figure known as the Crimelord has organized a tournament on a secluded island called "The Death Ring" to settle gang rivalries and earn his favor. The player's goal is to take their gang to the top by infiltrating opposing gangs' bases of operation and destroying their power generators.
Gameplay focuses on vehicular combat, with bases defended by enemy vehicles, turrets, and mortars that harass the player while searching for power generators to destroy. Players can choose from 23 missions, each containing power-ups such as invulnerability, invisibility, double damage, nitro boosts, and guided missile lock jammers. Power-ups are earned after collecting tokens scattered throughout each mission.
Grudge Warriors also features a 2-player split-screen combat mode, allowing two players to engage in head-to-head battles against each other.
