Star Ixiom , a remake of the 1985 game Star Luster , follows the story of a pilot for The United Galaxy Space Force as they fight against alien invaders with the help of the mobile battle unit "Team Gaia". Five alien races have launched a collective attack on humanity's colonies, and it's up to you to defend them.

Star Ixiom combines elements from other classic Namco games like Starblade and Galaxian 3 , but sets them in a free-form universe with strategically mapped areas. The gameplay mixes first-person space combat, strategic planning, and some role-playing genre elements.

The game features three modes: TRAINING, COMMAND, and CONQUEST. TRAINING mode is self-explanatory, while COMMAND mode takes you on separate missions to fight through one alien race at a time. In CONQUEST mode, you're given a large randomly created map of a solar system to defend against the enemy.

Star Ixiom was released for the PlayStation console in 2000 and offers an exciting blend of action, adventure, and strategy.
