Ace Combat: Distant Thunder is a simulation game set in an alternate history where World War II never ended. The story follows Lieutenant Commander Jack Hartman, a skilled pilot from the US Navy, who joins an elite squadron known as "The Black Eagles" to fight against an evil organisation called "The Shadow Syndicate".
