Band Hero is a karaoke/rhythm based game, similar to the Guitar Hero games, but directed at the pop loving teenage crowd, as well as a more group based party game (unlike with guitar hero, full band instruments are included from the beginning of the series).
The story revolves around forming and managing your own virtual band. The instruments are the same as in the more recent GH games.
Gameplay involves singing vocals, playing lead or bass guitar, and drumming along to popular songs. Each instrument has its own 'career' path in game, and scoring well earns points while making mistakes results in failure.
You can either play alone on any of the instrument careers or compete with up to three friends online to score better than other players and bands from across the world.
Band Hero features a range of popular songs, including Duran Duran's Rio , Don McLean's American Pie , Evanescence's Bring Me To Life and Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love .
Band Hero is available for the Playstation 3 console, released on 6th November 2009.
