Joust is a unique gaming experience where players control a knight with a lance on a flying ostrich, battling against computer-controlled evil knights atop vultures. The objective is to hit the enemy from a higher jousting point, destroying the vulture and its rider, while also collecting eggs before they hatch.

The gameplay is action-packed, as players must navigate through levels with crumbling platforms, lava trolls, and other obstacles. The game features three types of enemy knights with different strengths, requiring strategy to defeat them. Players must also contend with a pterodactyl that can be defeated by exploiting its weaknesses.

Joust was released in 1987 for the Famicom console and is notable for being one of the few two-player simultaneous games in the arcade at the time.
