Joust is a classic action & adventure game where players control a knight with a lance who rides their flying ostrich to battle against computer-controlled evil knights. Players must flap their steed's wings to hit the enemy from a higher jousting point and destroy the vulture and its rider. The heroic knights must also destroy eggs before they hatch, releasing new and increasingly more difficult knights.
The game features crumbling platforms, lava trolls, and a pterodactyl that provides an extra challenge for players. With three types of enemy knights - Bounder, Hunter, and Shadow Lord - each with their own strengths, players must be quick-witted to succeed. The game was praised for its innovative two-player simultaneous gameplay, making it a standout title in the arcade scene.
