Syvalion is a shoot 'em up game where you control a dragon-shaped spaceship divided into several segments. The spaceship can move freely across the screen in all directions and fights off robots, spaceships, and bosses with its fire attack. The fuel meter at the bottom of the screen depletes when using the fire attack, but moving around recharges it. You also need to avoid indestructible obstacles along the way. The segments serve as hit points, and when taking damage, a segment changes color.
The game features several modes, including:
Basic Series: A mode with instruction and tips on how to play;
Real Combat Series: A story mode;
Time Attack: A mode where you need to gather as many points as possible before time runs out.
Syvalion was released on June 14, 1905, for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It has also been included in a compilation called Taito Legends 2 for the PlayStation 2.
