NBA 2K6 is a basketball game that comes with all the usual updates from 2K's long running franchise, including new roster additions and an updated control scheme that lets players pass, shoot, and dunk using the analog stick. Players can now choose how aggressive they want their players to be by adjusting their aggressiveness in the game.
The game features many top NBA stars like Shaquille O'Neal, Steve Nash, and Amare Stoudemire, among others. It also has "The Crib", a virtual apartment where players can unlock and buy items to decorate, which upgrades as they progress through the game. The game modes include exhibition matches, a franchise mode where players control everything from hiring new players to scouting out talent.
For online play, the Xbox 360 version of NBA 2K6 has the V.I.P. feature, allowing players to view and download their profiles to compare and compete with others. The game also features commentary from Kevin Harlan and Kenny Smith.
