Sacred 2: Fallen Angel is set 2,000 years before Shaddar summoned the Sakkara-Demon and takes place in Ancaria, which is on the brink of war. The player's goal is to prevent this war, but ultimately decide between the Light or Chaos.
The source of this conflict is T-Energy, a godly energy that was once guarded by the Seraphim and controlled by the High Elves. However, its exploitation sparked resistance and led to the destruction of Ancaria, with the remaining High Elves building a new empire based on T-Energy.
As the player progresses, they will encounter monster-mutations that have been caused by the constant exploitation of T-Energy, destroying everything in their path.
The game allows the player to choose between six characters, including the Seraphim and five all-new classes. The choice of class affects the two campaigns and available gods, with the Seraphim restricted to the Light and the Inquisitor bound to Chaos.
The gods grant the player access to powerful spells, but these come with long cooling periods and should be used sparingly. The spellcasting system is similar to the original game, where the player takes on quests, kills creatures for experience points, and loots items to gain levels and get more powerful.
As the player progresses, they can invest skill points in four areas, choosing up to ten skills to level up. They will also find runes that provide and level talents for the characters.
The game features an extensive multiplayer mode, allowing players to play on PvE or PvP servers, or play the campaign in a local network with only one game copy required for two players.
