Syndicate is set in a gritty, dystopian future where Ben Jäger and Semir Gerkhan must monitor and neutralise a powerful criminal syndicate threatening to take over the city. The player's mission is to gather intelligence and bring down the organisation from the inside.

The gameplay involves a mix of driving and action elements as the player navigates through an open-world environment, completing random missions and car chases. These events often involve high-speed pursuits where the player must either ram or shoot their way to success.
