Beast Wars Transformers

Choose your character wisely for each mission, considering factors like Energon resistance and speed. If you're having difficulty, select a Transformer with the highest overall levels.

Monitor the map constantly to get early warnings of enemies and to avoid getting lost. White blips indicate enemies above or below you, red blips indicate enemies at your level, and green areas show where you have already been.

Transform into beast mode as soon as it is safe to build up Energon resistance, but be careful not to rest too long. On later levels, shoot and transform quickly to avoid damage from poisonous Energon, and don't linger in areas with concentrated Energon.

Use missiles wisely by holding down the fire button to lock on to single or multiple enemies, then releasing to shoot. Learn to use the strafe function (L2 and R2 buttons) to sidestep while facing a target, circle enemies, or get around corners, and double tap strafe buttons to roll sideways.

Don't blindly run into open areas; inch your way into combat zones and pick off enemies. In a fire fight, move backwards and fight one thing at a time, and remember that Transformers generally jump further in beast mode. Use camera controls to look upwards when attacked by flying targets.

If you lose a Transformer, collect the yellow icon with wings to start a rescue mission, then fly through clouds, shooting everything until you find and destroy the enemy ship to release your captured Transformer.

Learn to recognize different power-ups, remember their locations, and save ones you don't immediately need for later. You'll need a red weapon power-up to clear fallen rocks, and save special weapons for end-of-level bosses. Avoid purple Energon rocks and don't pick up power-ups if you don't need them, saving them for when you are beaten down.
